The Milky Way is filled with cosmic threads extending from the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy.

Hundreds of gas filaments, each 5-10 light years in length, align the galactic center and radiate outward along the plane of the galaxy like the spokes of a bicycle wheel with our galaxy black hole at the hub, reveal new radio observations made by the South African MeerKAT telescope.
