Velvet Cake and Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Velvet Cake and Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting is the yummy dessert. It is full of flavors and gives you a delightful taste. It is best for parties, and also for those people who wants to celebrate their birthday and wants to share their happiness with their friends and family.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ cup butter-flavored shortening
  • 4-6 drops yellow food coloring
  • ⅓ cup hot lemon water
  • ½ teaspoon white distilled vinegar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 heaping teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon pure lemon extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs


Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 4-5 drops yellow food coloring
  • 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4-5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ heaping teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure lemon extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 8 tbsps. unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 blocks cream cheese


  1. Heat your oven to oven to 325F.
  2. Take two large pans (9-inch) and grease it with oil and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix baking soda, all-purpose flour, baking powder , cake flour and salt and then left it for later use.
  4. Take another bowl, mix granulated sugar and oil and mix them well.
  5. Now mix lemon zest, vanilla extract and lemon extract.
  6. Add all the dry ingredients in the second bowl in which you made wet better.
  7. Add the eggs.
  8. Mix water and lemon juice in it.
  9. Now add a small quantity of food color to your required color.
  10. now shift the batter in the pan evenly and remove any air bubbles.
  11. Bake it in oven for 30 minutes.
  12. Put the toothpick into the cake to see if it is baked or not.
  13. Let it cool at the room temperature.

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting:

  1. Take a large bowl, add butter and cream cheese and mix them altogether.
  2. Now add lemon extract, lemon zest and vanilla extract.
  3. Now add powdered sugar till the creamy texture appears by adding lemon juice.
  4. Add the required food color.
  5. put the frosting in the fridge to make it more thick
  6. Add the layer of frosting to he cake.
  7. Add toppings of your choice.
